Virginia Vera Matijevich, 95, of Atlasburg, PA, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024. 

She was born on April 23, 1929 in Muse PA, the daughter of the late John Bardosky and Katherine (Poskosky) Bardosky Craig.

She worked for the County of Washington as a cook for many years and retired from the Burgettstown Senior Center in 1991. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and cooking. She was a wonderful cook and spent her life caring for others. 

She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. 

She is preceded in death by her husband Mike Matijevich, daughter Kathleen Matijevich, sister Mary Alsko, brother Andrew Bardosky, step-sister Betty Pienkosky, and step-brother Earl Craig.

Surviving are her children Debbie (Mahlon) Pritts of Washington, Judy (Steve) Kashuba of Washington, and Barbara (Kenneth) Heirendt of McDonald; grandchildren Marcie (Andy) Callan of Washington, Jonathan (Lindsey) Pritts of Washington, Kristy Koraido of Washington, Mark (Jill) Koraido of McMurray, Eric (Samantha) Heirendt of Canonsburg, Michael (Lisa) Heirendt of Greentree, Kristen (Trevor) Musulin of Canonsburg; great-grandchildren Iain, William, Andrew, Gianna, Talia, Kaylee, Adam, Penelope and Piper; step-brother John T. Craig of Aliquippa, and many nieces and nephews.

Services and interment will be held privately at Mount Prospect Cemetery, Hickory PA under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
