Tami Delano Ely, 81, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully in his home on May 12, 2026 after a long battle with prostate cancer.
He was born on July 19, 1944 in Cecil Township, PA the son of the late Louis and Gayelle (Bollinger) Ely.
After graduating from the Canon-McMillian High School, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.
Tami was a man of many talents. He worked as a local handyman for most of his life. He enjoyed playing euchre, smoking, and spending time with his many friends at the Owls Club and Cherry Valley Sportsman’s Club.
Tami is survived by his devoted wife Alma Smith Ely whom he married in 1986; daughters Angela (Bob) Greenslate, Kimberly (Jeff) Scopel and Katie Ely; step-daughters Dawn (Bob) Moreau, Danielle (Tom) Wagner and Kristen (Trent) Chilton; grandchildren Robbie, Evan, Ethan, Samantha, Hailey, Randy, Jenny, Tommy, Danny, Lucas, Benny, Joe, Ellie and Blake. He will also be missed by the family dog Tucker.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his first wife “Ginger” Malone Ely who passed away on February 19, 1982; and his three sisters Naomi “Dorie” Stumpf, Arlene “Winnie” Andrews and LaLonnie “Lonnie” Stuckwich.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Bethany Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate and gentle care.
Services with full military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday May 21, 2026 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Those planning on attending are asked to gather at the National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday morning.
