Shirley Hart Horvath Vail, 88, of Burgettstown; Hanover Twp., PA passed away peacefully on Monday morning June 3, 2024 in her daughters home where she has resided since 2021.
She was born on September 10, 1935 a daughter of the late Edward and Ruby Nicholson Hart.
She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Debbie Baker and husband Robert of Hanover Twp.; sons James Marshall Horvath, Jr. and wife Margaret of McDonald, Timothy Horvath and wife Amy of Canton, OH and Todd Horvath and wife Chris of Bergholz, OH; grandchildren Philip Carroll, Kristen Hawthorne and husband Robert, Dirk Horvath, Brittney Stoffella and husband Adam and Joshua Horvath; 9 great grandchildren; brothers Donald Hart, husband of the late Dorothy of Reno, NV and Robert Hart and wife Paulette of Hanover Twp.; a sister Linda Hunter and husband Lee of Cincinnati, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents is her husband of 53 years, James Marshall Horvath, Sr. who passed away on September 25, 2008; her second husband M.Sgt. John Vail, US Army who passed away on April 11, 2021; a grandson James Michael Horvath; and a bother Richard Hart, surviving wife Marlene of Reno, NV.
Due to the exceptional care she received from them, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Amedysis Hospice, 2215 Hill Church Houston Road, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
Arrangements are under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown.
