Russell W. Deer

Russell William Deer, 74, of Burgettstown, passed away on Sunday morning July 20, 2025 in Premier Washington Health Center.

He was born on January 12, 1951 a son of the late Jack A. and Leona P. Huntley Deer.

A 1969 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he retired in 2004 after 33 years working in the tin Mill at Weirton Steel.

Russ was an avid dart player and also enjoyed playing hook and softball.

Russ is survived by his two sons Scott Deer and wife Nicole and Jason Deer both of Burgettstown; grandchildren Beau, Kolesen and Eva Deer; his sister Jackie Deer and husband Kevin Galish of Burgettstown; brother Mark Deer and wife Leslie of Burgettstown; his former wife Beatrice Deer; and a nephew Billy Deer and wife Mackenzie of Oakdale.

Family and friends will be received from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday July 24, 2025 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
