Royce Gene Kotouch Sr., 76, of Eldersville, passed away on Wednesday evening February 1, 2023 in Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born on August 20, 1946 a son of the late Herbert C. Kotouch, Sr. and Erma Jeanne Brown Kotouch.
A 1965 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he enlisted in the United States Army on January 24, 1966 working in communication with the 25th Infantry Division, in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on December 5, 1968 a recipient of the National Defense and Vietnam Service Medals.
Mr. Kotouch was a member of the Slovan VFW, Burgettstown American Legion, and the Avella and Colliers Sportsmen's Clubs. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching football.
He retired from Pennsylvania American Water in 2005.
His wife Geraldine Kennedy Kotouch who he married on April 2, 1969 survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his three sons Royce Kotouch, Jr. and wife Renea of Eldersville, Daniel Kotouch and wife Missy of Eldersville and Ronald Kotouch and wife Marissa of West Palm Beach, FL; nine grandchildren Ryan Abbott, Stephen, Christopher, Jacob, Nathan, Liam, Colin, Decklan and Cate Michele Kotouch; four great grandchildren Lillian, Louis, Julia and Ava; sisters Eleanor Pant (the late Ronald) of Langeloth, Ruth Thorpe (the late Gary), Terry Ognag (George) of Langeloth and Margaret Archer (Joe) of Bavington; a brother Richard Kotouch (Chloe) of Eldersville and several nieces and nephews.
He also leaves behind his English Springer Spaniel best friend Shy.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his brothers Herbert C. Kotouch, Jr. and wife Valjene and Carl Kotouch.
Services with full military honors accorded by the United States Army and the Slovan VFW Honor Guard will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday February 8, 2023 in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Everyone attending is asked to meet at the National Cemetery at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his memory to the Slovan VFW, 65 Run St., Slovan, PA 15078.
