Ronald C. Wehrer

Ronald Charles Wehrer, 81, of Burgettstown, Cross Creek Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday morning March 23, 2025 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on June 17, 1943 in Pittsburgh a son of the late Ellis and Stella Skrinjaric Wehrer.

After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1961, he served in the United States Army from 1966-1968 during the Vietnam War before earning his degree from West Liberty University.

While a student at West Liberty University, he met his wife Shelly Ann Petricca Wehrer and they were married on March 9, 1968. She preceded him in death on September 18, 2023. In 1968 they founded, and together operated Wehrer Enterprises.

He is survived by his three children, Jill A. Gribbin of Greensburg, Greg Wehrer and wife Kelly of Houston, Texas, and Erin B. Wehrer of Cross Creek; seven grandchildren, Rachel Gribbin Salyers and husband Dr. Josh Salyers, M.D., Beau Gribbin, Austin Gribbin and wife Erin, Ellis and Silvia Wehrer, Trevor Abate and Haley Russell; and two great-granddaughters, Kinsley Abate and Lyla Salyers.

To honor Mr. Wehrer's wishes, services with military honors and interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville were held privately under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
