Peter Matijevich

Peter Matijevich, 94, of Atlasburg passed away on Saturday June 29, 2024 in St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon.

He was born on May 11, 1930 a son of the late George and Mary Gordon Matijevich  

After attending the Atlasburg grade school, he graduated from Union High School and studied accounting at Penn Commercial. He retired from Penowa Coal where he was an accountant.

Mr. Matijevich was a parishioner of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Steubenville, OH.

He is survived by a sister Stella Matijevich of Phoenix, AZ; his dear friends Elaine K. and James Hixon of Venetia and Ada May Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

Deceased in addition to his parents are his brothers Mike, Dan, George, Nick and John; and sisters Mary, Katie and Mildred.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a blessing service officiated by the Very Rev. Stavrophor Rajko Kosic at 11:00 a.m.on Tuesday July 2, 2024 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Burial will follow in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
