Nelson A. Rudy

Nelson Albert “Sonny” Rudy, 86, of Langeloth, passed away on Tuesday morning, June 10, 2025 in Brightwood Nursing Center, Follansbee, WV.

He was born on February 1, 1939 in McDonald a son of the late Hugh Nelson and Anna Mae Morris Rudy.

Mr. Rudy was a proud Teamster of nearly 20 years working as a mechanic and truck driver for PA Chemical Truck Lines, Weavertown and Panhandle Foods.

Surviving are his four children, Jodi Stevens and husband Robert of Langeloth, Theresa Williams and husband Joe of Burgettstown, Lisa Rupani and husband Damon of Burgettstown, and Richard Rudy of Burgettstown; seven grandchildren, Ty Keith, Robert Stevens Jr., Sonnie Jo Sadler and husband Alan, Darcie Musick and husband Nick, Mia Lynn Rupani, Nina Rudy and Gauge Rudy; and several great-grandchildren; a brother Ron Rudy and wife Carol.

Deceased in addition to his parents is his wife who he married on May 29, 1958 Phyllis Lee Bonner Rudy Watson and passed away on June 13, 2021; and his son Charles Rudy; and sisters Betty Vermeulen and Mae Higgs; and a brother Charles Rudy.

To honor Mr. Rudy’s wishes, services and interment in the Center Cemetery, Midway will be held privately.
