Neal William Donovall

Neal William Donovall, 83, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024 in the Weirton Medical Center.

He was born on October 2, 1941 in Avella, a son of the late Joseph and Zoe Delahaut Donovall.

A 1959 graduate of the Avella High School, he was drafted by the United States Air Force in 1965 serving in Vietnam and Thailand as a Radio Specialist. He was honorably discharged in 1968 a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Mr. Donovall owned several businesses in the area and liked to hunt and fish in his younger years. He enjoyed going to the casinos with his favorite person (Melva) any time he could.

He is survived by his loving wife Melva Yakovich Donovall whom he married on July 12, 1985; daughters Chrissie Moehring and husband Thad, Robin Pompe and husband Jeff; son Matthew Braheem; grandchildren Elizabeth and Alex Pompe; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Michael Braheem; brothers Leo and John Donovall; and sisters Geraldine Revay and Josephine Baker.

Family and friends will be received from 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday December 29, 2024 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 30, 2024. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
