Matthew Adam Tender, 39, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening April 2, 2023 after a long hard fought battle with kidney disease. As his final gift, he benefited many others by being an organ donor.
He was born on March 3, 1984 in Sewickley, a son of Greg and Judy Tender of Burgettstown.
A 2002 graduate of the Burgettstown High School, he also earned several welding certificates from Western Area Technology Center. Most recently he operated a Matco Tools Sales Store.
Matt was an avid car enthusiast especially working on his 1927 Ford Roadster and going to car shows and cruises, as well as riding his Harley, quads and boating. He also enjoyed wood crafting, remodeling and guns. Matt was always willing to help anybody with any project or anything they needed.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his brother Tim Tender and brother-in-law Paul Weber of Wisconsin; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and more friends than he ever knew he had.
Family and friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday April 6 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Good Friday April 7, 2023 with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Matt in a special way can make a memorial donation to his family in care of the funeral home.
