Mary Ellen Miller Karch

Mary Ellen Miller Karch, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday March 18, 2024 with her son Gene Dell by her side. 
She was born on April 2, 1930 in Fairmont, WVa a daughter of the late Dell St. Clair and Mary Ellen Davis Miller of Burgettstown and graduated in 1949 from Union High School in Burgettstown. Mary Ellen married Gene R. Karch on July 30, 1949 in the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Burgettstown and were married for 66 years when Gene passed away in September of 2015. 

She is survived by her  two sons Gene Dell (Mary) and Frank Lee (Diane) Karch both of Burgettstown; four granddaughters Rachel (Bobby) Puskarich of Burgettstown, Rebecca (Ian) Tomlinson of Los Angeles, CA, Ashley (Sean) Russell of Coraopolis and Amberley (Edward) Haldie of Imperial; two great grandsons Daniel and Matthew Puskarich and a great granddaughter Everly Haldie. She enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of them. 
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson Gene Douglas Karch; a sister Rosalie (Bill) Craig and a brother Donald William Miller. 
Mrs. Karch was a member of the Eldersville United Methodist Church and was a dispatcher for the Jefferson Township Police Department and Road Crew for nearly 10 years until they went to 9-1-1.  
To honor Mary Ellen's wishes, services officiated by Pastor Lori Jones and burial in the Bethel Cemetery in Eldersville were held privately for her immediate family under the direction of Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., of Burgettstown,  73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
