Martha Ressler Alvarez

Martha Ressler Sauder Alvarez, 68, of Weirton, WV; formerly of Eldersville and Lancaster County, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday May 22, 2026 in her home.

She was born on March 19, 1958 in Ephrata, PA a daughter of the late Paul and Mary Ressler Sauder.

Martha was a faithful member of the Cornerstone Mennonite Church in Eldersville, PA. She worked at the Bird-in-Hand Restaurant and Kauffman Family Marketplaces in Bird-in-Hand and Atlasburg, PA where from she recently retired. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowerbed and quilting.

She is survived by her four children Albert Alvarez and wife Lisa of Leola, PA, Evie Green and husband Shawn of Mt. Joy, PA, Daniel Alvarez and wife Sharon of Colliers, WV and William Alvarez and wife Dalila of Hernando, FL; 10 grandchildren Katrina, Jairus, Jadaisia and Alejandro Green, Quinten, Justin, Kiersten, Daniel Alex, Josiah and Zizah Alvarez; her former husband Oscar Alvarez; a brother Jake Sauder and wife Hilda of Paraguay; and her sister Pauline Montania, wife of the late Toto.

Deceased in addition to her parents is her son Guido Jacob Alvarez who passed away on April 29, 2016.

Visitation will be held for Martha on Saturday May 23, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in the Cornerstone Mennonite Church, 647 Eldersville Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021where services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday May 24, 2026. Burial will follow the services in the Church Cemetery.
