Louis Martin Chatter, Jr., 77, of Burgettstown, passed away on Monday morning January 8, 2024 in the Weirton Medical Center.
He was born on January 27, 1946 a son of the late Louis M. Chatter, Sr. and Verna Brosky Chatter.
A 1963 graduate of the last class of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he was drafted into the United States Army serving from 1965-1967 with the 9th Artillery Infantry in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, and the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals.
He worked for Coll Tire in Burgettstown, PennDot and retired from the Laborer's Union.
Lou was a Lifetime Member of the Burgettstown V.F.W. and enjoyed watching sports, NASCAR and listening to music.
He is survived by his two sons Rob Chatter and wife Cheryl of Texas and Gerald Chatter and wife Amy of Clinton; and five grandchildren Jacob, Cody, Owen, Ada and Cade Chatter.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his longtime companion Patricia Lee Flynn; a brother Joseph Andrew Chatter and his former wife Debbie Petty Codeluppi.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Thursday January 11, 2024 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday January 12, 2024 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Cemetery, Burgettstown.
