Lillian Jean Hixson Stiffler

Lillian Jean Hixson Stiffler, 89, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday evening August 5,  2024 in McMurray Hills Manor.

She was born on September 4, 1934 in Hickory, a daughter of Ralph David and Wilda Walker Hixson  

Lillian Jean attended the Union High School in Burgettstown and retired in 1997 from the Burgettstown High School where she worked in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Burgettstown Presbyterian Church and enjoyed Bingo, traveling with her husband to casinos in Atlantic City and New York, ice cream and most of all being with her family.

Her husband, John E. Stiffler III who she married on April 21, 1956 passed away on October 9, 2000.

She is survived by her daughter Donna Sandridge and husband Shawn of Burgettstown; her son David W. Stiffler and wife Lisa of Eldersville; a daughter-in-law Carmen Stiffler; grandchildren Jon, Jason, Jordan, Emily, Nathan and Maggie; great grandchildren Gavin, Madelyn, Evan, Holland, Cayde, Jax, Quinn and Cas. She is also survived by her step daughters Janet Ocasio of New York and Maggie Andrews of Washington State and their children Will, Keshia and Philip.

She was preceded in death in addition to her parents and husband by her son Jack A. Stiffler; her grandson Derek Sandridge; a great granddaughter Cailin; and four sisters Florence Hadley, Hazel Colvin, Margie Goettge and Patricia Passalacqua.

Family and friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday August 8, 2024 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 9, 2024 with the Rev. Dr. Toni Harrington officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
