Kathryn Vietta May George King, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday morning March 14, 2023.
She was born on April 9, 1940 in Wellsburg, WV a daughter of the late William and Letha Francis George.
Kathryn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker who loved spending time with her family and enjoyed making the holidays special.
Her husband, Retired Smith Township Police Chief Robert W. King who she married on October 23, 1958, passed away on November 27, 2020.
She is survived by her children, Robert W. King Jr. and wife Julie of Bulger, Stephen A. King and wife Beth of Burgettstown, and Jodi Lynn Smitsky and fiancé Kevin Ola of Avella; six grandchildren, Stephen A. King Jr. and wife Lindsey, Jared R. King and wife Britanni, Nathan King, Jena M. Boff and husband Patrick, Katie Smitsky and Logan Smitsky; four great-grandchildren Connor Allen, Aiden Judah King, Isabella Nicole King and Eliza Jade Boff. She is also survived by her sister Mary Quinlan; a half sister Sandy Campbell; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her loyal toy poodle LuLu Belle.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is her son William Brian King who died in infancy; and two brothers Robert George and Leroy Behanna.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday March 20 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 21, 2023 with Pastor Frank Haas of the Follansbee Presbyterian Church officiating . She will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in the West Alexander Cemetery.
