Judith Scruppi Bovalina

July 19, 1935 — September 30, 2024

Imperial; formerly of Burgettstown

Judith Scruppi Bovalina, 89, of Imperial; formerly of Vian Drive in Burgettstown; was reunited with her loving husband, Dominick on Monday, September 30, 2024, at St. Clair Hospital with family at her side. She was born on July 19, 1935, daughter of the late George E. and Vera Guio Scruppi of Cherry Valley. Judy was married to the late Dominick Bovalina, Sr. on February 11, 1956.

Judy graduated from Union High School (Burgettstown) and was a regular attendee at their reunion get-togethers. Judy was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish (Burgettstown) and their Christian Mothers. She enjoyed family camping with their travel trailer and tailgating at Steeler games.

Judy played golf during her many years snow birding on Florida’s east coast as well as in various leagues in SW Pennsylvania, even recording several hole-in-ones! Judy was quite the follower of the PGA and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Judy loved hosting family dinners and pool parties, participating in card clubs and neighborhood gatherings on Vian Drive, and then at Lennox Drive.

Over the years, “Grandma Judy” was so proud to attend and support her grandchildren’s activities whether it be school, athletic, dance, etc. as their biggest fan. She was pretty tech savvy and really enjoyed her online shopping and gift giving.

Judy truly loved her family, friends, neighbors, church and life.

She treasured her family and is survived by their four children, Thomas (Sharon) of McMurray, Yolanda Duffin (James) of Florida, Dominick Jr. (Karen) of Canonsburg and Vito (Sharon) of Imperial; ten grandchildren, Collin (Rachel), Corey (Desiree), Logan and Cameron Duffin, Olivia Hurley (Kyle), Anna, Anthony (Megan), Chad, Clay and Luke; and six great-grandchildren, Emersyn, Cadence, Dawson, Charlotte, Ellie, and Lucy; sisters Janet Krieger (Ronald) of Hernando, FL and Joyce Guna (John) of McMurray and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 6, 2024, from 12:00 – 5:00 at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown. Departing prayers will be on Monday, October 7, 2024, beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Zachary Galiyas at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown. Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Joffre Bulger Road, Burgettstown.
