Jerry D. Thomas

Jerry Donald Thomas, 83, of Bulger, passed away on Saturday evening May 24, 2025 in UPMC Washington Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 28, 1941 a son of the late Charles E. Thomas, Sr. and Frances DeCook Thomas.

A 1959 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he enlisted in the United States Army in February 1961 serving as a helicopter mechanic in Vietnam; and was honorably discharged in January 1964.

Jerry retired from Weirton Steel and was a member of the Richard Vaux Masonic Lodge #454 in Burgettstown where he served as Worshipful Master in 1980, 2009 and 2010.

He is survived by his loving wife Sharon Mae Hawkins Thomas whom he married on August 13, 1966; his two sons Tim Thomas (Jody) of Clarksville and Matt Thomas (Tami) of Bulger. He was exceptionally proud of his three grandsons Buddy, Levi and Jake Thomas. Jerry is also survived by his Brother-in-law John Rupani; sister-in-law Mary Lou "Tweenie" Thomas and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Charles E. Thomas, Jr., Samuel Morgan Thomas and Dennis Thomas; and three sisters Dolores Rupani, Loretta Thomas and Janet Thomas.

Family and friends will be received from 2:00 p.m. until the time of funeral and Masonic Services at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday June 1, 2025 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services of Burgettstown; 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.

Memorial donations can be made in Jerry's memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
