Harold Stephen Krawchyk

Harold Stephen Krawchyk passed away peacefully on Monday, December 23, 2024, at the age of 79 in Bulger, PA.

Born on August 4, 1945, in Sewickley, PA. Harold was the son of the late Andrew and Eleanor (Ehle) Krawchyk. He attended Canevin High School and, following graduation, enlisted in the U.S. Army. After serving honorably for three years, Harold was discharged and went on to earn a degree in Business from Penn State University. He spent the majority of his career as a driver with the Teamsters Union.

Harold was known for his loving spirit, generosity, and sense of humor. He was a friend to all who knew him, and his family was his greatest joy. He dedicated his life to ensuring their happiness and well-being. Harold loved spending time outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, and golfing with his brothers, son, and grandchildren.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine “Taffy” Connelly Krawchyk; his son, Roger (Meghan) Krawchyk; his brothers, Bill (the late Rome) Krawchyk, Rob (Gerri) Krawchyk, and Jim (Deborah) Krawchyk; and his grandchildren, Adam and Devin Krawchyk. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Robert (Heidi) Shaffer and Jennifer (Jeff) Shaffer-Cook, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever hold him in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Eleanor Krawchyk; his sister, Joann Kulak; his brother, Br. Matthew “Cork” Krawchyk; and his nephew, Roger Kulak.

A celebration of Harold’s life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Slater’s Funeral Home, 73 Highland Ave., Burgettstown, PA 15021. Burial will follow immediately at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Paul of the Cross Monastery in Pittsburgh.
