Edward Galan Jr., 91, of Langeloth passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Wednesday April 9, 2025. He was born on Miner’s Hill in Langeloth to the late Edward Galan Sr. And Mary Harpula Galan.

The oldest of five, he was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia (“Ginny”) Galan, and a brother Daniel (“Danny”) Galan. He is survived by a brother Joseph Galan and a sister Julianne (Ron) Krzeczowski.

Edward was member of the United States Army and proudly served in the 7th Battalion Artillery Division in the Korean War as a member of the Honest John Rocket Battalion. After serving, he worked at Bethlehem Steel, Climax Molybdenum and many years at Dellaria Ford.

He was known by all for his giving and loving heart. He never let anyone walk away from visiting him without a Coke in their hand and a piece of chocolate in their pocket. He is also an avid lover of all Pittsburgh sports teams, never missing a single Pirates, Penguins, and Steelers game. You could always find him listening to his handheld radio, talking about the lottery numbers the night before or the amazing play that he couldn’t believe happened in the game. More than anything, he loved nothing more in life than spending time with his beloved wife of 67 years and family who was his world.

His world includes his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia Ann Galan, who he is now reunited with, three daughters Stacy (Mike) Vosburg, Marcy (Ron) Ranko, Linda (Jay) Koceski, six grandchildren Michael Vosburg (Michele), Megan Vosburg (Steven), Mackenzie (Tyler) Maltony, Kyla Ranko (Vince), Laura Koceski, Galan Koceski and one precious great granddaughter Lucia

Family and friends will be received from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday April 11, 2025 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of Burgettstown, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday April 12, 2025 with the Rev. Dr. Toni Harrington officiating. He will be laid to rest with full military honors in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
