Duane E. Fowler, Sr., 86, of Bulger, passed away on Tuesday February 27, 2024 in Premiere Washington Health Center.
He was born on July 3, 1937 in Washington a son of the late Albert L. Fowler, Sr. and Agnes Noviski Fowler.
A Veteran of the United States Army he served as a SP4 during the Vietnam and Korean Wars, being honorably discharged in 1967.
Mr. Fowler was the former owner of Wess's Tavern in Bulger and retired from Duerr Packaging in Imperial. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, watching game shows, playing cards and going for rides to see covered bridges.
He is survived by his wife Loretta M. Abbott Fowler whom he married in 1998; sons Duane E. Fowler, Jr. of Washington and Terry Fowler and wife Karen of Cecil; a daughter April Chytil an husband Shad of Chester, WV; daughter-in-law Jessie Fowler of Weirton, WV; grandchildren Alexa, Tammy, Alex, Tara and Cameron; great grandchildren Aria and Timmy; a sister Donna Coulter and husband Doug of Cecil; a step brother John Fowler of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents are his first wife Margie Kelso Fowler who passed away in 1985; a son Nathaniel W. Fowler; a granddaughter Alicia; brother Albert Fowler, Jr. and a sister Patty Sefzik.
