Donald Eugene Bianchi

Donald Eugene Bianchi Sr., 80, of Burgettstown passed away at home on Wednesday evening March 30, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born on July 5, 1941 the son of the late Geno and Irene Kochey Bianchi of Bulger.
A 1959 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he served his country in the Vietnam War from 1966-1968 in the US Army's, 1st Infantry Division (Big Red One), and obtained the rank of Sargent(E5). He was honorably discharged a recipient of the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Good Conduct Medal and the Expert (Rifle) Bronze Star Medal.
Don was an assistant manager at Petrucci's Shop N' Save in McDonald, Pa, owned a Pepperidge Farm franchise, and retired from Standard Coffee company at age 62. Then took on a second career driving school van for Jake Schneider Bus LLC.
A member of the Burgettstown Italian Club, American Legion, V.F.W. and the Slovenian Club, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed time at the family camp, playing bocci, and maintaining the Bulger Honor Roll.
He is survived by his wife of 63 year Jacquelyn O'Hara Bianchi and son Donald (Tammy) Bianchi Jr. of Enola, Pa. His two granddaughters Katie and Josie, and his nieces and nephews Scott Yacoviello, Heather Shaffer, BJ O'Hara and Morgan Lauff.
Family and friends will be received from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday April 3, 2022 in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where departing prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday April 4, 2022 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown with the Rev. Zachary Galiyas as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to a veterans organization of the donors choice.
