Domonic Thomas Abbott, Sr., 71, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning May 28, 2022 in his home.
He was born on October 18, 1950 in Bulger a son of the late Joseph Abbott, Sr. and Ida Mae Kinney Abbott Knisley of Paris.
Mr. Abbott retired from Gold Schmidt Industries (now Reaxis) in McDonald where he was a Chemical Operator.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and riding his motorcycles.
His wife Betty Jean Bowland Abbott who he married on August 2, 1969 passed away on April 13, 2005.
He is survived by his two children Domonic Abbott, Jr. and fiancé Denise Gill of Burgettstown and Amey Stover and husband John of Burgettstown; grandchildren Linda Hopkins (Guy), Joye Lynn Camino (T.J. Darabant), Bambi Siegworth (Robert), Michael Abbott, Megan Abbott, Chad Abbott, Daniel Abbott, John Stover (Tiffany), Shane Stover (Julia Guidry), and Kelsey Hucik (Bradley); 13 Great Grandchildren Wesley, Owen, Guy, Michael, Camron, Bensen, Gemma, Blaike, Greyson, Aiden, Arianna, Ava, Olivia, and two great grandchildren being born in 2022; daughter-in-law Cheryl K. Abbott of Indiana; a brother John Abbott of Hanover Twp.; sisters Josie Caldwell and husband Darrell of Hanover Twp., Jackie Chiarenza and husband Eddie of Weirton, Cindy Jaggie and husband John of Weirton and Nancy Abbott of Hanover Twp.; many nieces, nephews and sister and brother-in-laws.
Deceased in addition to his father and wife are two brothers Joseph Abbott, Jr. and George Abbott; and his step father William Knisley.
Family and friends will be received from 4:00-9:00 p.m. on Tuesday May 31, 2022 in the Lee & Martin Funeral Home, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021 where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday June 1, 2022. He will be laid to rest in the Grandview Cemetery, Florence.
Immediately following the services at the Grandview Cemetery on Wednesday, everyone is invited to the Hanover Twp. Fire Department Hall for a luncheon and continuation of fellowship.
