Dennis R. "Crazy Horse" Thomas, 72, of Burgettstown, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 6, 2023 in his home.
He was born on August 5, 1951 a son of the late Charles E. Thomas, Sr. and Frances DeCook Thomas.
A 1970 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, he served in the United States Army Reserves.
Denny was the owner of Thomas Plumbing and Heating in Burgettstown for many years, always helping anyone in need day or night with fairness and honesty. He also helped whenever needed at the Fairview Cemetery.
Denny was an avid race fan, he played darts and bocce at the Burgettstown Italian Club, where he was Captain of the “Horsemen”. He enjoyed country music, James Bond Movies and spoiling his Dog Geronimo, who also preceded him in death.
His wife and true love of his life, Dorothy L. "Dottie" Craft Thomas passed away on August 17, 2011.
He is survived by his son Troy Thomas and wife Maureen of Coraopolis; his three grandchildren Olivia, twins Harper and Hayden Thomas; a brother Jerry Thomas and wife Sharon of Bulger; brother-in-law John Rupani; sister-in-law Mary Lou "Tweenie" Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his parents and wife are his brothers Charles E. Thomas, Jr. and wife Doris, Samuel Morgan Thomas; and sisters Loretta Thomas, Dolores Rupani and Janet L. Thomas.
Family and friends will be received from 12:00 p.m. until the time of a Memorial Service 2:00 p.m. on Saturday December 23, 2023 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. of BURGETTSTOWN, 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Immediately concluding the service he will be laid to rest beside his beloved Dottie in the Fairview Cemetery.
