Dennis F. Dorman III

Dennis F. Dorman III, 69, of Burgettstown; Hanover Twp., passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Tuesday afternoon November 26, 2024 in UPMC Mercy Hospital.

He was born on September 23, 1955 in Carnegie a son of the late Dennis F. Dorman, Jr. and Anita Magliocca Dorman.

A graduate of Carlynton High School in Carnegie, he earned his degree from Gannon University. After teaching school for a brief time, he returned to Gannon and earned his associates degree in nursing. Dennis served many area hospitals as an E.R and I.C.U. nurse, retiring from the Washington Hospital.

An avid musician, he played the guitar, organ and piano, recording several biblically based Christian songs. He was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Burgettstown and enjoyed gardening.

He is survived by his loving companion of 32 years Cheryl Czap, with whom he made his home; five children Jesse Dorman and wife Kim of Charlotte, NC, Amy Sixberry and husband David of Olivet, MI, Sarah Gold and husband Jim of Hopewell, Hannah Dorman and husband Chris Hofstetter of Coraopolis and Caleb Dorman and wife Lara of Bethel Park; grandchildren Evelyn, Lillian and Vivian Dorman, Corey Kerecz, Jewel, Jade and Jemma Strader, Bella, Grace, Faith and Gabriel Gold, Kamilla and Trevor Dorman; a brother Kenny Dorman and wife Sharon of Coraopolis; a sister Sandy Dorman of Carnegie; and four nephews and two nieces.

Family and friends will be received from 12:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2024 in Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021, where Departing Prayers will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by the Rev. Harry Bielewicz at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown.
