Craig Allen Bolinger, Sr. , 59, of Burgettstown, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning, March 17, 2024, in UPMC Canterbury Place, Pittsburgh after a lengthy, hard-fought illness.
Craig is survived by his loving wife Jennifer, and four children, Gavin, Blake, and Addison Bolinger of Burgettstown, and Shawn Bolinger of McClellandtown. Also surviving are his sister Billy Jo Baer of McClellandtown; cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many co-workers and friends, including his dear friends, James and Anna Kirkpatrick.
Born on November 17, 1964 in Uniontown, Craig was the son of the late Mabel Pounds Bolinger. Also preceded in death was his son, the late Craig A. "Bo" Bolinger, Jr.
A 1982 graduate of Connellsville Area High School, Craig earned three Associates Degrees from Penn State University: one in each Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Solar and Thermal Engineering. He also held a Bachelors Degree in Jurisprudence, Land Management from California University of Pennsylvania.
Craig had a long, successful 23 year career with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation where he started as a Bridge Inspector in 1984. There, he would hold multiple positions, such as Transportation Construction Inspector Supervisor and Transportation Manager I, II, and III., before retiring in 2007. He was currently employed with TRC Companies in Export as a Construction Quality Assurance Manager since 2015. Prior to working for TRC, Craig was a Construction Services Manager at PSI and was Vice President of Construction, Engineering, and Inspection at A&A Consultants.
Craig was a caring and fun soul who was very active and involved with his family, children, and community. He enjoyed his time supporting the Burgettstown Football and Softball Associations, attending activities with his children, and loved both cars and his gun collection. Always the life of the party, Craig made everyone around him laugh, lighting up the room with his witty sense of humor and contagious smile.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life from 1:00-4:00 p.m. on Saturday March 23, 2024 at Slater Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 73 Highland Avenue, Burgettstown, PA 15021.
