Carol Jo Gruphofer, aged 80, passed away on April 29, 2025, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with her beloved great-granddaughter, Abby, by her side. Born on August 22, 1944, she dedicated over 30 years to her career as a Customer Service Representative at Time Warner Cable before retiring.

Carol was a proud graduate of South Hills High School. Her hobbies and interests were a true reflection of her joyful spirit and love for life. She enjoyed baking cookies and candies, decorating for the holidays, visiting the beach, spending quality time with her beloved animals, and watching big brother with her great grandchildren. Carol was also a devoted fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, showcasing her enthusiasm and support for her favorite team.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her son Edward (Rose) Klos, daughters Lisa (Mark) Carpenter, and Maria (Duane) Cohen. Carol was adored by her grandchildren Jessica Graham, Ryan Comston, Christopher Shields, Valerie Gould, Brandi Odell, Mckenzie Carpenter, Michael Carpenter, Chelsie (Philip) Hathaway, Paige (Ryan) Gizzi, and Dalton Cohen. A cherished great-grandmother to Abigail (Isaiah Norvet) Graham, Haley Graham, James Graham, Madalynne Graham, Miah Wilcox, Serenity Wilcox, Penelope Wilcox, Anthony Wilcox Jr., Zoey Comston, Ashlyn Comston, Madisyn Comston, William Woollet, Geri Fannin, Lizzie Odell, Mathew Carpenter, Elliot Stubbs, Elena Carpenter, Landon Gizzi, Declan Hathaway, and Colin Hathaway. Carol was also devoted to her great-great-grandsons Zy'Aire Norvet and Zaydin Norvet, who brought immense joy to her life.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents Carl Sands and Olive Mae Sands (Piel), her husband and true love of her life, Joseph Gruphofer, her son Jon Gruphofer, and her brother John Sands.
Carol's memory will forever be cherished by her vast circle of family and friends, who remember her as a beacon of light and warmth in their lives.
