Blanche Petricca Schneider, 87, a lifelong resident of Atlasburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening September 26, 2025 in UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born on December 29, 1937 in the Atlasburg home she lived her entire life, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Altobelli Petricca.
A 1955 graduate of the Union High School in Burgettstown, she and her husband owned Jake Schneider Bus Co. which they founded in 1975 and continues to serve Washington County. She valued her work there and truly loved and cherished all of the drivers whom she met throughout the 50 years.
Blanche is survived by her three daughters Christina Mercurio and husband Tony of Imperial, Gerri Diaz and husband R.J. of Cherry Valley and Rebecca Schneider of Atlasburg; her four grandchildren, Matthew Jacob and Audra Rose Mercurio and Manny and Amaia Diaz; two sisters Virginia Petricca of McMurray and Pauline Mott, wife of the late Harry of Phillipsburg, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, deceased are her husband Jacob G. "Jake" Schneider, Jr. whom she married in 1964 and passed away on October 12, 2015; a sister Tillie Martin (surviving husband Don); and a brother Harry Petricca.
All are welcome to a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday October 4, 2025 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish, 1109 Main Street, Burgettstown, PA 15021. Burial will follow in the Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
