Annette Iannetti, 62, of Burgettstown; Hanover Twp., passed away on Saturday evening February 8, 2025 after a hard fought 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.
Annette was born May 10, 1962 to Nick Jr. & Stephana Iannetti. She was a 1980 graduate of Burgettstown High School and followed in the family footsteps to Penn State where she graduated with a Horticulture degree in 1984.
After graduating from college, she joined her father, Nick, and uncle, Chirp, in the family business as the greenhouse grower at Iannetti’s Garden Center. Annette’s passion was to make her greenhouses produce the best plants possible. Not only was she great at raising her plants but she raised two wonderful sons, Scott & Ryan, who would help her in the greenhouses and loading mum trucks after school.
While plants and gardening were her true passions, she also enjoyed traveling with her sister Trish and cousin Sheila. She was always sure to do extensive research and would have a detailed itinerary with everything she wanted to see wherever they visited. Annette also enjoyed baking, always wanting to try new recipes, and checking out different restaurants with her friend, Matt. She was an avid reader, belonging to several book clubs, and was a member of the Burgettstown Library Board. Everything lead back to gardening; whether she was attending professional meetings and classes to further her knowledge, sharing that knowledge with school students on field trips to the greenhouses, or talking with local groups like the Weirton Garden Club; she strived to be the best greenhouse grower and friend to the community she could be.
Annette is survived by her mother Stephana Mis Iannetti, sons Scott (Melanie) and Ryan Weaver (Claire), granddaughter Josie, sister Patricia Iannetti (Raymond, deceased), nieces Leah (Bill) and Marisa Kofmehl and Rebecca Helfrich, and nephew Ian Helfrich, great nephew George, and former husband Bill Weaver.
Annette’s family would like to thank all the family and friends for their love, support, and prayers over the past 2 ½ years and a special thanks to everyone at the Weirton Geriatric Center.
